Universal Credit - A Year Of Change app for iPhone and iPad

Universal credit will change the way people manage their money. Instead of receiving a range of benefits weekly or fortnightly, they will receive one monthly payment which will include any housing element they may be entitled to, towards their rent. So for many this will bring responsibility for paying their rent to their landlord for the first time.

The game asks you to help a person or family through each month, trying to manage money, paying rent, weekly expenses and other bills. Events occur randomly throughout the year and there will be choices about how to spend money. It is hoped that the game will raise awareness of the new benefit (Universal Credit) and to encourage people to start thinking about how they can manage their money in a fun way, so that they are ready for the change in benefits.
